'Ante Sundaraniki' is said to be on the verge of flopping very badly. Trade reports suggest that the first weekend is the only okayish phase for the movie, with Monday's collections seeing a sharp dip in collections. Mythri Movie Makers has scored a rare flop.
After 'Shyam Singha Roy' did reasonably well despite average content, Nani stood a very good chance of scoring a hit with 'Ante Sundaraniki'. After all, it is a family drama and not just a rom-com.
For whatever reason, 'AS' has not done well despite most audience members feeling that the second half is good.
Probably, people want to watch the film on OTT instead of giving it a try in theatres (something that they didn't want to do overwhelmingly in the case of 'SSR', which did well in the month of 'Akhanda' and 'Pushpa: The Rise').
Another plausible reason could be fatigue because of the steady stream of arrivals in theatres since 'Bheemla Nayak' in the last week of February. But this fatigue was not on display in the case of 'Vikram' and 'Major'. If 'Virata Parvam' takes bigger openings than Nani's film, it will suggest that 'AS' failed due to content.
