At the pre-release event of 'Mishan Impossible', Megastar Chiranjeevi got playful and said that he would have acted opposite her in a movie had it not been for his political stint. "When the film 'Jummandi Naadam' (2010) was released, I was stunned by Taapsee's striking looks. I wanted to act with her. But I was in politics back then and so missed it," Chiru said, adding that he would like to act with her now.
Chiru's remarks were welcomed by the 'Thappad' actress, who blushed and laughed. But an old controversy has come to Netizens' minds.
In 2017, Taapsee criticized 'Jummandi Nadam' by saying that its director K Raghavendra Rao made her pointlessly expose her midriff in a song. This drew criticism from Telugu cinema fans at that time. Some are saying that Taapsee will make use of Chiru's comments to stoke controversy in the future. A Netizen wrote, "Eeme already national media lo Telugu industry meeda comments chesindi.. Ipudu ee situation lo jarigindi kuda edo okati anestadi."
This sounds far-fetched, though. Taapsee must be aware that the 'Acharya' actor made the remarks in jest.
