The Hindi film industry continues to be in the doldrums. Ranveer Singh is a notable star hero and yet his latest film 'Jayeshbhai Jordaar' collected dismal figures on Friday, its first day at the box office.
The film is reported to have collected about Rs 3 Cr (Nett.) on Day One. At this rate, 'JJ' is going to be a flop along the lines of 'Jersey'. The Hindi audience are less interested in this movie than 'Doctor Strange', which was released a week earlier. Even 'Don', a midsized Tamil movie, grossed higher figures in Tamil Nadu on Friday, which was its first day.
Social media is abuzz with the talk of Bollywood's relevance coming down, especially when the content is multiplex-style. The one blockbuster from Hindi is 'The Kashmir Files' and it's not a typical entertainer at all.
