On Sunday, a popular Telugu news channel ran a story claiming that 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' is a flop. The channel alleged that theatres playing the Parasuram Petla directorial are empty. The story was aired amid claims by makers to the contrary. Mahesh's fans, enraged by the negative propaganda carried out by the TV channel, trended a cuss word in abusing the channel. On Twitter, more than one lakh tweets shamed the channel.
NV Prasad, who is currently producing Chiranjeevi's 'Godfather', came out in support of 'SVP'. He said that there is clearly an attempt to muddy the waters by targeting 'SVP' for political reasons. Appearing on Sakshi, Prasad said that there is an attempt to create a rift between the fans of Mega heroes and Mahesh Babu just because the latter called on YS Jaganmohan Reddy earlier this year. The fans of 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' are supporting NV Prasad.
"Even though Pawan Kalyan runs a political party, he and other heroes are apolitical as far as films are concerned. Just because a Prakash Raj or an Ali have political preferences of their own, it doesn't mean they have to be judged through a political lens," Prasad said, adding that politics and cinema shouldn't be mixed.
NV Prasad has previously produced 'SPYder'.
