Young actress Chethana Raj, who is known in the Kannada TV industry as a budding starlet, breathed her last on Tuesday after she reportedly underwent cosmetic surgery at a Cosmetic Clinic in Rajajinagar, Bengaluru.
As per a report by NDTV, her lungs reportedly filled up with fluid after a fat removal surgery was done without proper equipment in the ICU. It was a case of cardiac arrest.
The doctors at the clinic tried to revive Chethana after she developed breathing troubles. On failing, they took her to a nearby hospital where the doctors were reportedly forced to do something about her even though she was brought dead.
After the deceased person's parents lodged a police complaint, the clinic has been shut down. No arrests have been made.
Reacting to the news, Kannada actor Chetan Kumar tweeted, "Saddened by 21 yr-old Kannada actor Chetana Raj losing her life after a liposuction procedure. Glamour industries that impose a burden of ‘attractivity’ on young women and their bodies can be psychologically traumatic for so many. We must prioritize holistic health and mindfulness for all."
