Coming Sankranthi, three major films are going to be in the race: Chiranjeevi's 'Waltair Veerayya', Balakrishna's 'Veera Simha Reddy', and Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varasudu'. Of these, the last one is dubbed from Tamil. The films starring Chiru and Balayya are straight Telugu films. It's said that Varasudu's producer Dil Raju wants to release his movie in the best of theatres in the Telugu States. He is also eyeing the maximum number of theatres.
The Telugu Film Producers Council on Sunday said that, as per a resolution taken in 2017, distributors and exhibitors must give preference to straight Telugu films during Sankranthi and Dasara. The resolution was passed keeping in view "the increasing costs of production and the welfare of Telugu film producers."
What TFPC is saying is quite clear. 'Waltair Veerayya' and 'Veera Simha Reddy' must be preferred over 'Varasudu'.
