Director Teja has commented that 'Pushpa: The Rise', which was released in theatres in December last year, fetched losses for many exhibitors in Andhra Pradesh. Speaking to a Telugu-language daily, the 'Jayam' and 'Nuvvu Nenu' maker claimed that an exhibitor he knows couldn't recover his investment made in the Allu Arjun-starrer.
"Just because the film did well in Mumbai (Hindi), they are calling it a blockbuster," Teja said.
Teja's comments have angered Bunny's fans. "His comments are reckless. He should have qualified his remarks. Just because some exhibitors made losses, it doesn't mean the film flopped in the whole of Andhra Pradesh," a fan suggested.
As per Teja, some distributors made profits on 'Radhe Shyam', which was declared a disaster all over. Was it a function of cinema ticket prices in AP?
