Sonu Sood has resolved to set up skill development centers where needy women will receive occupational and vocational training in various skills such as sewing and coding. The centers will come up in backward States like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, besides the agricultural State Punjab.
The 'Acharya' actor made the announcement on the occasion of Karwa Chauth, a prominent festival in North India. As per the 'Arundhati' artist, it is essential for women, who are sole breadwinners in a lot of households, to upskill themselves. "They need to achieve financial independence. Our centres will provide them with the right foundation," he suggested in a statement.
After helping the needy on the medical and food fronts, Sonu Sood has shifted his focus to life-altering interventions such as educational and vocational training.
