Panja Vaisshnav Tej has been failed by 'Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga'. The rom-com was touted to be a semi-family drama. Despite the backing of BVSN Prasad's production house, Devi Sri Prasad's music and a talented cast, the film has failed to offer fresh content.
The Mega family hero should have chosen a thriller or some other non-romantic story at a time when most new directors are failing to tell compelling love stories. Even an amateur can easily discover that 'RRV' is a mishmash of a number of hits like 'Ninne Pelladatha' and 'Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu'.
To be sure, this is the first misstep by Tej. 'Konda Polam' was a disaster but he accepted the movie before the theatrical release of his first movie 'Uppena'. A newcomer can't be expected to say 'no' to someone like Krish Jagarlamudi. Also, the project was a quickie, shot in less than 40 days. So, the flop was no big deal.
By the time 'RRV' came to him, Tej should have known better. Its failure puts his judgemental abilities in question. It's not like he is the only young actor who is not perfect. Almost everyone has given flops in a row.
Tej now pins hopes on his next with Sithara Entertainments. The film is directed by newcomer N Srikanth Reddy.
