'Yatra' director Mahi V Raghav is the showrunner of 'Save The Tigers'. The show will stream on Disney Plus Hotstar from April 27. Created by him and Pradeep Advaitham, the web series stars Priyadarshi Pulikonda, Ahibnav Gomatam and Chaitanya Krishna in lead roles. Jordaar Sujatha, Pavani Gangireddy and Deviyani star as wives, while the lead men are husbands. Directed by Teja Kakumanu, the show has nothing to do with tigers or ecology.
Speaking on the occasion, actress Jordaar Sujatha said that 'Save The Tigers' is her first web series. "I have been a TV show host till now. Acting is new to me. I played a housewife named Hymavathi in this series. She is someone who motivates her husband immensely," she said.
Actress Deviyani thanked creator Mahi. "I cannot forget the support that our directors Teja and Pradeep gave me," she added. Actress Pavani said that she got to learn a great deal by doing the show. "After watching this series, we will know of some truth bombs. Abhinav is my co-star in this. We used to be like Tom and Jerry on set," she added.
Actor Abhinav Gomatham said, "When I listened to the story for the first time, I felt it was written in such a way that each of the characters has an identity of their own. A web series needn't always be a thriller. A clean comedy is something the viewers are surely going to like. The entire team worked hard. I have known director Teja for a long time. He has done a remarkable job for a first-timer."
Chaitanya Krishna said that the actual story of the series is 'Let's save the Husbands'. "I will be seen as an advertising executive. My wife is a lawyer. It's hilarious how those husbands are condemned sometimes," he said.
Showrunner Mahi V Raghava thanked director Pradeep. He added that there is a comical story in every household. "A joke about a husband and wife never fails to click. There was a time when the wise counsel of elders used to be listened to. Nowadays, with both the husband and wife being jobholders, the family dynamics have changed. There is friction between husbands and wives. These days, OTT shows are not family-friendly. If a clean comedy is made, the family audience will surely watch OTT shows. That's what our series wants to achieve," the 'Yatra' director said, adding that he will be making a few more web shows in the coming years.
