Sandeep Reddy Vanga is perhaps one of the very few Indian filmmakers to be facing incessant personal attacks about his character. Ever since the release of 'Animal', all sorts of things have been said about his allegedly depraved mindset and so-called maniacal nature.
In a viral social media post, a viewer wrote that he has been worried about the women in Vanga's family after watching 'Animal'. Surprisingly or otherwise, many Netizens supported his view. "In a scene, Geethanjali (Rashmika Mandanna) suffers physical harm at the hands of her husband Vijay Singh (Ranbir Kapoor). This perversion is normalized and even romanticized by the film. I am genuinely worried about the women in Vanga's family," a Twitter user said.
In another tweet, a user wrote, "Apparently, 'Animal' is the best condom ad ever made albeit it is stretched too long, reflecting on the mistake Vanga's parents made by not using one."
When Puri Jagannadh romanticized stalking in films like 'Idiot', he did face criticism from many vocal women when there was no social media. But what Vanga is facing is on a different level altogether.
