Senior film journalist and publisher Suresh Kondeti was recently in the news over messing up with a film awards function that he organized and hosted in Goa. Some Kannada film industry personalities were allegedly disrespected during the awards event; many of them were reportedly cooped up in their hotel rooms because Kondeti hadn't cleared their hotel bills. Allu Aravind and another producer came to their rescue and personally cleared the bills.
The incident was taken note of by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, which urged the Telugu Film Journalists Association to take action against Kondeti. The TFJA leadership has asked Kondeti not to attend press meets and film events for some time. The ban is indefinite.
It is learned that Kondeti is unhappy with the decision and has wondered how a private awards event is anybody's concern. Kondeti feels that he recently already explained himself and that the TFJA can't prevent him from attending film events and pressers.
