Aha Video was floated just before the 2020 pandemic. Its growth prospects at first looked dim. But, with shows like Unstoppable With NBK and multiple post-theatrical movie releases, the Telugu-only OTT platform has become a strong platform attracting 2.5 million subscribers.
In his latest interview, the company's CEO revealed that Aha is looking forward to making an investment of Rs 1,000 Cr in the next three years. This will involve expansion in multiple languages, including Telugu.
Speaking to India Today, its CEO said, "In Telugu, we are looking at becoming a super app where we offer news, gaming, spiritual content, K-dramas and so on. We also want to launch our channel in Kannada and Malayalam in the next six months."
He added that Aha Video will NOT be set up only in Hindi. It will be floated across all major regional languages. That explains why Aha Video is investing Rs 1,000 Cr by 2026.
Aha Video needs to give better quality web originals. It's an area where it has been lagging behind.
