'RRR' has been the most popular Indian movie internationally in several years, but when it comes to Asian Film Awards, 'Ponniyin Selvan: I' is clearly ahead of the SS Rajamouli directorial. On Friday, the jury announced nominations in various categories. 'PS' and 'RRR' are the only Indian films to receive nominations at the 16th edition of Asian Film Awards.
The Mani Ratnam directorial has been nominated in six categories: Best Picture, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Original Music, Best Costume Design, and Best Production Design.
On the other hand, the Jr NTR-Ram Charan starrer has been nominated in two categories: Best Visual Effects and Best Sound.
In all, 30 films from 22 regions and countries have been shortlisted to compete for 16 awards. 'Decision to Leave' topped the list by bagging 10 nominations. 'Drive My Car' got 8 nominations.
