"Who is Shah Rukh Khan?" This is the question Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asked some media persons on Saturday. He also said that he hasn't even heard of the film 'Pathaan'.
The question was posed to the CM in the wake of Bajrang Dal activists reportedly resorting to vandalism in a theatre in Guwahati where SRK's film is going to be screened from January 25.
The BJP leader saying that he doesn't know who SRK is has hurt his fans. They are saying that SRK represents India's soft power in many countries of the West.
On Sunday morning, a development took place on the front. The Assam CM said that SRK called him personally. "We talked today morning at 2 am. He expressed concern about an incident in Guwahati during a screening of his film. I assured him that it’s the duty of the state government to maintain law and order. We will enquire and ensure no such untoward incidents," the CM added.
