A section of fans of Prabhas might be disappointed that their favourite star is not giving promotional interviews ahead of the release of 'Adipurush', but their disappointment with the 'Salaar' actor may well be ill-advised. So far, People Media Factory's TG Vishwa Prasad is the only head associated with the movie to give an interview. He only talked about the business and ticket pricing aspects, not the content.
A section of the media is trying to impress upon Prabhas to start promoting the movie, which hits the cinemas on June 16.
But Prabhas may well have taken the wisest decision in recent times by staying away from interviews. 'Adipurush' has got a known story. It is not a contemporary film or an action thriller about whose characters people don't know anything. There is little that Prabhas, director Om Raut and the film's producers can talk about its story.
'Adipurush' was embroiled in negativity after its teaser was released in the first week of October last year. Had Prabhas been giving interviews, he would have been asked all sorts of questions about the VFX. Probably, Prabhas doesn't want people to be reminded about that phase.
These days, anything and everything is blown out of proportion. Press meets, especially in Hyderabad, come with questions that are designed to generate needless controversy. Prabhas has done the right thing by staying away from promotional interviews and media appearances for now. Once 'Adipurush' generates excellent openings, the team can hold a success event.
