Kiran Abbavaram has started this year with a bang. 'Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha', from all avenues, has minted Rs 15 Cr. Now, fifteen crores is no mean feat for a hero who started out only recently in films and started finding his feet as a hero of multi-genre movies only recently.
The success of 'Vinaro Bhagyamu..' in February has given a huge fillip to his career and the rest of 2023 looks sorted. 'Meter', which is scheduled to hit the cinemas on April 7, is the film to watch out for.
'Meter', starring Kiran in an action-hero role, has already fetched table profits for Mythri Movie Makers. It's expected to cement its commercial potential by making Rs 20 Cr by the end of its box-office run, including from non-theatrical sources of revenue. Its OTT rights have fetched Rs 8 Cr, while satellite and Hindi rights have made Rs 5 Cr. Given the image of Kiran and the clean track record of producers Y Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni, the theatrical revenue even before Meter's release is pegged at about Rs 4 Cr.
All in all, Kiran is now setting his own rules of the game. He is looking at a solid stint!
