Filmmakers switch their genres from time to time, especially the younger crop who yearn to carve a niche for themselves. The new wave of Telugu cinema has seen some filmmakers try a variety of genres. Director Damodara, who made a debut with Anand Deverakonda’s 'Pushpaka Vimanam' in 2021, is one such filmmaker.
After a comedy thriller, he is now wielding the megaphone for a movie that belongs to a contrasting genre. He is doing a Srikakulam-based romantic entertainer set in a village. And the title is as Telugu-ish as it gets: 'Kanyakumari', which is also produced and written by the director.
On Tuesday, Radical Pictures unveiled a poster of the film. Starring Sricharan Rachakonda and Geeth Saini as the lead pair, the film will complete its shoot soon. In today's poster, we see silhoutte-like images of the lead pair using bicycles for commute.
Sahitya Sagar (music), Naresh Adupa (editing), and Siva Gajula (cinematography) are working on the movie.
