Geetha Arts has collaborated with 'Baby' fame Mass Movie Makers and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment to produce a film led by Rashmika Mandanna. Rahul Ravindran, who has previously directed 'Chi La Sow' and 'Manmadhudu 2', is going to wield the megaphone.
Touted to be a women-centric film with a redoubtable performance by the 'Animal' actress, the film promises to bring out a "one-of-a-kind cinematic experience for audiences of all ages".
Entitled 'The Girlfriend', the announcement video suggests that the 'Pushpa' actress' character may well be caught in a claustrophobic situation. She is neck-deep in water, gasping for breath. Is it a metaphor for a toxic relationship she is in?
"I am so much in love with her that she doesn't need her friends and family. All she needs is me," a male voice, who is presumably in love with Rashmika's character, says in the video. Is this film a commentary on possessive relationships where the dominant partner subjects the other one to agony in the name of love?
Krishnan Vasant (director of photography), Hesham Abdul Wahab (music director) and the S Ramakrishna-Monika Nigotre duo (art directors) are handling different departments.
Producers Vidya Koppineedi and Dheeraj Mogilineni are planning to commence the shoot soon.
