'Pindam' is the latest horror-thriller in the town. This November release, directed by Saikiran Daida, is set in three timelines: the present, the 1930s, and the 1990s. Set mostly in a haunted house where an unseen, mysterious force torments a young girl, the film has Srikanth Sriram and Kushee Ravi (of the Kannada film 'Dia' fame) as a married couple who are taken aback by the inexplicable and incredibly scary incidents unfolding within the four walls of their old-fashioned house.
A lot of horror movie stories take place inside a mansion. This one is different in that respect and the setting gives the impression that the backstory has something to do with an accursed family whose sinful ancestor did something unthinkable.
Starring Eswari Rao as a spirit healer, the film also features Srinivas Avasarala, Ravi Varma, Manik Reddy, Baby Chaitra, Baby Leisha, Vijayalakshmi, and Srilatha. With the story written by Saikiran Daida, Kavi Siddhartha and Toby Osborne, the film is produced by Yeshwanth Daggumati.
Kalaahi Media has worked with cinematographer Satish Manoharan, composer Krishna Saurabh Surampalli, editor Sirish Prasad, production designer Vishnu Nair and costumer Padma Priya Penmatcha.
The makers have described 'Pindam' as the scariest film ever made.
