'Laapataa Ladies' is the title of a small-scale social comedy from Bollywood. The film will hit the cinemas on January 5, 2024. Aamir Khan is one of its producers. The film's teaser is out.
Starring Sparsh Srivastav, Chhaya Kadam, Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, and Ravi Kishan in lead roles, the film is directed by Kiran Rao (the ex-wife of the 'Laal Singh Chaddha' actor).
Talking about the movie's premise, the makers said that its story takes place in 2001. The location is a Hindi-speaking village in rural India, "'Lost Ladies' (the English translation of the Hindi title) is about the delightful adventures of two young brides who get accidentally swapped on a train. In the ensuing chaos they each encounter a host of colourful characters, resulting in hilarious and unexpected consequences," the makers said.
While the story has been written by Biplab Goswami, the screenplay and dialogues are from Sneha Desai. The music is by Ram Sampath and Vikash Nowlakha is its cinematographer.
