Producer C Aswini Dutt has criticized the YS Jaganmohan Reddy government's legal pursuit against TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu. It is known that the former AP CM has been arrested in connection with an alleged scam.
In a statement today, Dutt suggested that Naidu has been arrested in a fabricated case due to political vendetta. He predicted, with a tinge of anger, that the YSRCP government would be trounced in the next Assembly elections. "I am sure that the TDP will win 160 out of 175 seats," Dutt said, adding that those who are after Naidu will be taught a lesson by the people of the State.
Dutt's remarks acquire prominence due to the fact that he is one of the very few Telugu film industry personalities to comment on the ongoing political turmoil in the State. Earlier, K Raghavendra Rao criticized the manner of the arrest.
In May this year, Dutt, commenting on the Nandi Awards being put on the back burner in AP, quipped that the YCP government is interested only in Best Goonda and Best Rowdy awards.
