Established Telugu heroes don't show interest in doing web series. Venkatesh is an exception. He has done two seasons of 'Rana Naidu' for Netflix. One more exception is said to be on the anvil. He is Ram Pothineni.
As per the buzz in the media, the 'RED' and 'Nenu Sailaja' actor has been offered a web series by Netflix. The streaming giant is said to have pitched an irresistible story that suits Ram's image. If everything goes well, it will help him endear himself to the non-Telugu audience as well through the web series.
At this point in his career, a digital debut would be the most ideal bet for Ram. Most of the star directors are too preoccupied to work with him for the next 3-4 years. Doing films like others would be suicidal, especially at at time when trends are changing fast. A digital debut wouldn't have come to Ram at a more opportune time.
His 'Double iSmart', directed by Puri Jagannadh, has been delayed by almost one year. It was stuck in a financial limbo for months together. The film could hit the cinemas in August or September.
