Jio Cinema, the multi-language streaming platform, today launched two new premium subscription plans. And the plans are cheap even by the standards of a local, one-language platform in India.
The premium for one month for one device stands at Rs 29 (after a 51% discount). While the price for one month for four devices stands at Rs 89 (after a 40% discount). Ad-free viewing is available for all movies. However, for sports and live events, Ads are a given. The streaming quality is 4K.
"All of the finest content from HBO, Paramount, Peacock, including Jio Cinema's originals will now be available at just Rs 29 (for 1 device) and Rs 89 (for 4 devices)," a statement said. Jio Cinema has been slowly getting popular for non-IPL content as well, although Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney Plus Hotstar continue to be preferred by a vast urban segment.
Previously, Jio's annual plan would cost Rs 999.
