Akkineni Nagarjuna has issued a public statement on the demolition of his N Convention, a function hall, in Hyderabad. He described the demolition as illegal and added that he would be taking recourse to legal routes against it.
"It is unfortunate that demolitions have been carried out despite stay orders and ongoing court cases related to the N Convention. I believe it is necessary to issue this statement to protect our reputation, clarify certain facts, and emphasize that we have not violated any laws," Nag said.
"The land in question is patta land, and no portion of the tank plan has been encroached upon. The building was constructed on a private plot. A previous, illegal demolition notice was also subject to a stay order. Clearly, the demolition was conducted either through misinformation or illegally. We were not issued any notice before this morning's demolition. Such actions are inappropriate while a case is pending in court. As a law-abiding citizen, if a court ruling had gone against me, I would have carried out the demolition myself," Nag added.
