Amitabh Bachchan's family has reportedly bought shares from Swiggy's employees and early investors. The development has come at a time when the food aggregator app is expanding its horizons. It has been competing with Zomato and Zepto.
Details of the value of the investment made are yet to be made official. Big B and his family won't have any controlling stakes in Swiggy. The legendary actor and his family have been in business ventures for many years. Their interest in the shares of Swiggy has to be seen as a sign of their growing interest in quick-commerce.
On the work front, Amitabh was recently seen as Ashwatthama in Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD', which starred Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in other roles. The film is streaming on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video these days. The Hindi version on Netflix is a runaway hit.
Amitabh Bachchan has not issued any official statement about his Swiggy shares.
