Whatever may be the commercial fate of 'Guntur Kaaram' and whether or not the film's distributors made losses, one thing is for sure. A majority of the audience didn't like the movie a bit. Mahesh Babu is the film's only plus, the general audience feel.
In his latest interview, veteran director SV Krishna Reddy commented on the failure of the Trivikram directorial, saying that films with top actors must be firmed up only based on the story and not because you want to set up big-ticket combination projects.
Krishna Reddy gave examples from his own career. In 1995, he delivered two flops - Nandamuri Balakrishna's 'Top Hero' and Akkineni Nagarjuna's 'Vajram'. These projects came to him because he was going great guns, having delivered super-hits before. After burning his fingers with star heroes, Krishna Reddy was back to believing in the story rather than combinations.
