The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, the Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce, and the Telugu Film Producers Council are upset with a section of the Tollywood media saying that the allocation of theatres to different movies this Sankranthi has been fraught with arm-twisting and monopoly practices. They expressed concern over the publication of articles regarding certain movies. The bodies suggest that negative reportage will foster an unfavorable atmosphere within the industry. There have been assertions that Superstar Mahesh Babu-Trivikram's 'Guntur Kaaram' is gaining an unfair advantage in certain markets to the total disadvantage of other movies.

According to the three industry bodies, comprehensive discussions are at the root of what has happened this season and there is no arm-twisting. The bodies suggested that equitable treatment for every film has been accorded.

The statement highlights the rescheduling of Ravi Teja's action thriller 'Eagle', and the postponement of 'Ayalaan' and Dhanush's 'Captain Miller' as a result of internal negotiations among producers.

The bodies emphasize that certain websites and social media handles, lacking an understanding of the full picture and backroom negotiations, have engaged in half-baked reportage. These sites have been warned of action if they continue to write alleged falsehoods.

In a separate statement, the producer of 'Ayalaan' said that the deferment of his movie in Telugu was non-controversial.
