The other day, a video clip featuring two contestants from Bigg Boss OTT (Hindi) surfaced online. It featured Armaan Mali and his second wife Kritika Malik engaged in make-believe intimacy. Predictably, the video leak snowballed into a controversy, with many accusing Jio Cinema and the makers of the reality show of promoting "vulgarity".
Turns out that the video clip was made up. It was edited by a miscreant for sensationalism.
After a political functionary from Maharashtra called for a ban on the show, Jio Cinema responded duly by lodging a complaint against the unknown person who had created the edited/morphed clip. The inappropriate editing could result in the culprit being jailed under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.
Bigg Boss OTT has acquired popularity in recent years, and Jio Cinema is making the most of its growing currency.
