Earlier this year, Telangana state awards for film personalities and best Telugu movies started to be called Gaddar Awards. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made an announcement to this effect a few months ago. On Tuesday, the CM said that, months after the announcement, there has been no attempt by the Telugu film industry to reach out to the administration. The government expects the industry to be proactive.
Responding to the CM's public utterance, Megastar Chiranjeevi has made an appeal to the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce and the Telugu Film Producers' Council to start reaching out to the administration.
The 'Vishwambhara' and 'Bholaa Shankar' actor shared an old video clip of himself delivering a speech regarding the Gaddar Awards initiative.
Chiranjeevi may have said in the past that he doesn't want to be regarded as a representative or elder of TFI, but he is the only major star hero to make a public appeal after Revanth Reddy's Tuesday speech.
