'Sarfira', the Hindi-language remake of Suriya's 'Soorarai Pottru' ('Aakasam Nee Haddhu Raa' in Telugu), is a biopic on Captain GR Gopinath. The film's trailer was released today. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the biographical drama is produced, among others, by actor Suriya.
Netizens feel that Akshay Kumar could get a break from a series of flops he has had since the pandemic. "Something different from Bollywood amidst a plethora of overused secret agent/commando formula," a movie buff wrote. "Choice of remake of the biopic is good but now Akshay has gone to point-of-no-return. Unfortunate but true," wrote a skeptical movie buff who feels that Akshay has been doing too many remakes.
"The trailer is genuinely good. Obviously, I dont want to comment anything on its business aspects, as you all know the current trend. But in terms of making, execution and most importantly, the emotional connection, I strongly feel this one has the potential to perform much much better than many other Akshay Kumar film released in last 18-24 months," opined Rohit Jaiswal.
It will hit the cinemas on July 12.
