Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit Nene has collaborated for a glamorous event with a Pakistani origin, US-based promoter named Rehan Siddiqi. So what, you ask? There is a backstory.
Rehan has been accused of maintaining links with Pakistan's ISI, which has been plotting terror attacks on Indian soil for decades. He has already been blacklisted by the Government of India for years now. Given his antecedents, Madhuri Dixit shouldn't have collaborated with him for moral reasons.
"Rehan Siddiqi is a prominent figure in the South Asian entertainment industry in the United States, known for organising events and concerts featuring Bollywood celebrities. However, Siddiqi’s reputation is marred by allegations of his links to the ISI," wrote Organizer, an RSS mouthpiece.
"There are 100s of promoters who Bollywood celebrities can collaborate with. Is there any good reason for them to work with a Pakistani origin promoter who is alleged to have ISI links?" a commentator asked.
