'Premalu' was released in theatres weeks after its Malayalam original was released. Yet, the Telugu version has become a big hit in commercial terms.
As per the latest box-office reports, the rom-com had a massive second weekend. With none of last week's theatrical releases, including 'Razakar', working with the audience, 'Premalu' had the last laugh the past two days. In the Telugu States, in ten days, 'Premalu' made Rs 9 Cr (Gross).
The film's success is partial, though. While it did very well in Nizam territory, in other markets, it could have only done better.
Directed by Girish AD, 'Premalu' is a teen romance set in Hyderabad. Co-starring Naslen K. Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, the film also features Sangeet Pratap, Shyam Mohan M, Meenakshi Raveendran, Akhila Bhargavan, Althaf Salim, and Mathew Thomas. With music done by Vishnu Vijay, its cinematography is by Ajmal Sabu. The film is edited by Akash Joseph Varghese.
