Two days ago, Mythri Movie Makers and director Harish Shankar put out a teaser for 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh'. Apparently, its content violates a provision of the Model Code of Conduct that came into force after the Election Commission recently announced the election schedule for the Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections.
The Chief Electoral Officer of AP, Mukesh Kumar, made it clear that it is violative to use political advertisement-like content in the teaser for a film while the MCC is in force without the prior permission of the EC.
Appropriate action will be taken once the content of the teaser is scrutinized by a special wing at the EC. The content of the teaser gives political elevation to a tea glass, which is the symbol of Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party. If the EC is strict, it might seek an answer from the Jana Sena chief, as he is the hero of the film. Moreover, recently, Pawan mouthed the punchline from the teaser at a political meet.
