Jayam Ravi, the well-known Tamil actor, has announced separation from his wife Aarti. In a statement on Monday, Ravi said that the decision was taken after much "thought, reflection and discussions". He described the decision as difficult. Ravi married Aarti in the year 2009. She is the daughter of a noted television producer named Sujatha Vijayakumar. They have two sons from the marriage.
"I am dissolving my marriage with Aarti. The decision was not made out of haste. It stems from personal reasons that I believe are in the best interests of everyone involved. In light of this, I hereby kindly request all of you to respect our privacy as well as that of our family members during this difficult time and appeal to all of you to refrain from making any assumptions, rumours or allegations in this regard and let the matter remain private," he added.
Jayam Ravi is the son of veteran film editor A Mohan. His 2015 film 'Thani Oruvan' was remade in Telugu by Ram Charan as 'Dhruva'.
