“The Sompeta Thermal plant agitation was going on for the past few years. I want to support the people of Sompeta and help them in defending their land. Hence I want to bring awareness among the people of Andhra Pradesh about their movement”, said
R Narayana Murthy in a press meet held in Hyderabad regarding his film ‘People’s War’. Speaking further he said, “It’s the people’s responsibility to keep the environment pollution free. Hence the Sompeta villagers are laying down their lives to protect the water bodies and fertile land through anti-thermal power plant movement. We have to save our forests and not allow them to get destroyed for the sake of some other needs. Even though the AP High Court granted stay on land allotment for thermal power plant in Sompate, the government is not taking any action. All these issues will be discussed in our film ‘People’s War’.”
The shooting of “People’s War” has been completed. The unit is presently busy with post production works. We are planning to release the film in May 2nd week. While Srihari and Posani Krishna Murali are playing the central roles, others prominent artists are Kondavalasa Lakshman Rao, L B Sriram, Kota Shankar Rao and Sakuntala.
