Telugu moviegoers may have to face a longer than expected wait for Gopichand’s action adventure ‘Saahasam’ to blast its way into theaters as the movie release date has been postponed once again from June 21st to July 5th. Initially the movie was scheduled for June 14 release, later it got postponed to 21st and now it further got pushed to July 5th citing some technical issues in post-productions.
‘Saahasam’ is a very important film for Gopichand, Taapsee, director Chandrasekhar Yeleti and producer BVSN Prasad, since all are banking on this film’s success in order to proceed with a successful film career. While producer BVSN Prasad is yet to see a success after ‘Darling’ (both ‘Devudu Chesina Manushulu’ and ‘Ongole Gitta’ bombed at the box-office and ‘Oosaravelli’ was an average), similar is the case with Gopichand who never tasted success after 2007 ‘Lakshyam’, heroine Taapsee, who has a credit of only one successful film ‘Mr Perfect’ that too as a second heroine and Chandrasekhar Yeleti (the director who’s hungry to make a variety conceptual films), who is also yet to see a hit after ‘Anukokunda Oka Roju’ in 2005. His following films ‘Okkadunnadu’ starring Gopichand in 2007 and ‘Prayanam’ starring Manchu Manoj in 2009 failed miserable at box-office. So let’s hope that ‘Saahasam’ will give a much needed break to the entire team.
