The year 2014 appears like it will see an unprecedented rush of two more Tollywood filmmakers Krish and Sekhar Kammula working on Bollywood Productions. This phenomenon seems similar to the situation back in when choreographer cum actor turned director
Prabhu Deva made a commendable entry in Bollywood in 2009 with a remake of 'Pokiri' as 'Wanted', after experiencing a box-office debacle with 'Pournami' in 2006. Now much similar to that, Krish with 'Vedam' & 'Krishnam Vandemataram Jagadgurum' and Sekhar Kammula with 'Leader', 'Life is Beautiful' and 'Anamika' could really not impress the Telugu audience and hence decided to go ahead and take up the challenge in Bollywood.
Now coming to their projects, it's well known to movie buffs about director Krish's Bollywood film 'Gabbar', which is the remake of AR Murugadoss' Tamil blockbuster movie 'Ramana'. The same was remade in Telugu as 'Tagore' with Megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead and then in Kannada as 'Vishnu Sena' with Vishnuvardhan in the lead. Krish is wielding megaphone for this action drama featuring Akshay Kumar and Shruti Haasan. One of the most successful film makers in Bollywood, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is producing it along with Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. Unlike Krish, who's testing his luck with the remake of another director's film, Sekhar Kammula has opted for a play safe method with the remake of his own film 'Happy Days'. This information might appear a bit old, but the latest we hear is it has been confirmed by the director himself that he's going to work with Salman Khan, meaning, Sallu Bhai will be producing 'Happy Days' in Hindi. We all know that Sallu Bhai is fond of Telugu films and even enjoyed box-office success with remakes like 'Wanted' and 'Ready' as an actor. So folks, let's wish him for experiencing the power of a producer as well at the box-office with yet another remake project 'Happy Days'. Right now casting search is going on to introduce fresh faces in the film.
