“I don’t think any other actor could have done justice to Ajay’s role. I’m very confident that Ajay can do perfect justice to the title role. My confidence was fulfilled,” said Trikoti.
The much hyped film ‘Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya’ starring Ajay and Indraja as one lead pair and Naga Shourya and Sana Maqbool as another lead pair is all set to release on October 10th. Rajani Korrapati has produced the film on Vaarahi Chalana Chitram banner with Sai Shivani as presenter. This romantic drama is directed by Rajamouli’s protégé Trikoti while the music is rendered by music composer MM Keeravaani. MM Keeravaani's father, Siva Shakti Dutta has penned a song in the film. On this occasion director Trikoti shared few words with the media.
‘Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya’ is releasing on October 10th. What is your feeling?
I have taken up a delicate point for the film. Of course, there was no pressure on me while filming. But, I’m feeling some tension when the film’s release date is nearing.
How is your film career started?
I entered into the film industry as an office boy. And then I entered into editing department and after that I turned as an assistant director. Slowly I was transformed into associate director. When I was working as an associate director at director Kranthi Madhav, I met Rajamouli. In the meantime we became close. That is how my journey started.
How you got that different idea?
The story is not mine. It’s my friend Giri’s. He provided stories to Allari Naresh movies in the past and he is the assistant to Janardhan Maharshi. I was impressed by the different point narrated by Giri. We went ahead to develop the story. The moment this dawned upon me, Ajay’s name struck in my mind. I have decided to do the film with him.
What is the reason behind to choose Ajay for the different role?
Ajay is a good performer. Nobody else would’ve done justice to ‘Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya’ title role other than Ajay. My confidence on him was grown after watching ‘Ishq’ movie. Therefore I decided to make a film with him. In the same way Ajay fulfilled my confidence. He had given stupendous performance.
Does Rajamouli’s repercussion appear in your direction?
No, His effect won’t appear anywhere. I have learned how to make action films and sentiment films at him. We have taken due care in making of the film.
What are the highlights of the film?
Each and every scene like comedy, sentiment and climax are the highlights for the film. Tears rolled down Dill Raju’s cheeks after he watched the climax scene. He praised that the film is very good.
Which role have importance-that of Ajay or Naga Shourya?
Both characters have equal importance. Both have served through their roles. The role played by Naga Shourya is how he saved his father from the ordeal. Ajay’s role is to be as a father and lover goes hand-in-hand.
How you convinced Indraja?
She herself agreed to do in the film. It would be repeated if present artists are taken for hero’s mother character. When I was in dilemma to choose the artist, one of my friends suggested me Indraja’s name. Immediately I approached her. She was very much impressed by the script and readily accepted to act in the film.
Share some words about music…
Though Keeravaani and I have a relationship since long time, he agreed as Sai Korrapati asked him to do. Coming to the film, he has given few suggestions too. I have given the script to Keeravaani. He been there and had made Ananth Sriram to pen the lyrics in sync with the story and emotions. Meanwhile, he also made his father Siva Sakthi Datta to pen lyrics for one song.
How is Sai Korrapati’s support?
I know Sai Korrapati since ‘Eega’ movie. He has not compromised in terms of budget. He has provided wonderful technicians. He has provided everything which the film needs.
Rajamouli has watched the first copy?
No, he has not watched the first copy. But, he watched the rushes. He praised that the rushes are very impressive.
Tell about your next project?
At present, any movie was not finalized. As of now I can’t say anything about my future plans.
