We’ve heard umpteen times a common complain that Tollywood directors aren't experimenting enough. The movies that are being churned out here stick to strict formula. Critics and audience also feel that there is always a different approach to telling the same story. Off late, quite a handful of directors have moved away from formulaic mould and adopted newer format in storytelling.
Director of Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya Trikoti falls in the same mould. Trikoti’s claim to fame is not that of chance but of sheer hard work. Professionally speaking, Trikoti happens to be senior of director Rajamouli in movie making. The time when Trikoti was assistant to director Kranthi Kumar.
At one time Trikoti was pegged at directing Tamil Super Star Vijay, as fate would have it the project never took off. There was no doubt about Trikoti’s abilities, but none of the other projects that he wanted to direct after the fiasco took off.
By his own admission Trikoti says “Rajamouli give him new lease of life as a seasoned technician and a director with vision. He put me to Sai Korrapati”. As a production house Vaaraahi Chalan Chitram is open to experiment with new content.
'Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya' has been making the right noise from the launch of first trailer. This romantic comedy has a unique storyline and would entertain the audience and also make them think once they step out of the theatre.
Directors like Trikoti will pave the way for other directors in Tollywood. Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya is slated for release on 10th October.
