King Nagarjuna, Ramya Krishna and Lavanya Tripathi starrer ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ has released on January 15 on the occasion of Sankranti. The film has got positive reviews from the audience and stood as No.1 in this Sankranti weekend. On this occasion, the film unit arranged press meet.
Speaking at the press meet, Akkineni Nagarjuna said, “‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ has landed in the first place pushing all Sankranti releases. I had long-time dream to do film like ‘Dasar Bullodu’ which was released in 1971. My dream was fulfilled through this film. I put-on my father’s dhoti, watch and chain for Bangarraju getup. ‘Manam’ is my father’s last film and this film was also shot in the same sets which were designed for ‘Manam’. ‘Manam’ was released in 600 theaters, whereas this film was released in just 450 theaters because of heavy competition. The film collected Rs 5.5 crore gross at the AP/T box office on the first day. It fetched Rs 3.90 crore to its distributors. But I don’t bother about collections. We can’t compare the records of my father’s ‘Mayabazar’ and ‘Premabhishekam’ with my ‘Siva’ and ‘Ninne Pelladuta’. Thefilm has got good response from the audience and fans. Portraying Ramu character became a bit tough for me than to play Bangarraju role. I usually talk to others looking into their eyes. But Ramu should not look like that and so I was not comfortable with that character. I have done several film with Ramya Krishna. She is like our family member. When everyone learned about Lavanya Tripathi and me combination, they were first doubted. We too Okayed our combination only after doing photoshoots. I played naturally with her. Anoop’s mother passed away during the time of film’s shooting. But, he started his work just after the fourth day. He has given the tribute to his mother through his work. Kalyan Krishna garu has crafted the film wonderfully within one month with the script provided by Ram Mohan garu. We are doing his second film also on our banner.”
Kalyan Krishna said, “We find Bangarraju’s character in every village. I have designed Nagarjuna’s character keeping his image in mind.”
“I’m very happy that ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ which I have worked with Nagarjuna after the super success of ‘Manam’ became big success. I’m very happy that the audio of the film was dedicated to my mother,” said Anoop Rubens.
Lavanya Tripathi said, “I enjoyed a lot each and every moment working with senior actor like Nagarjuna. Working with Nag sir and Ramya Krishna is a wonderful experience.”
