Actress Sumalatha will now foray into politics. There was news that her son will contest in the coming elections in Karnataka. But now Sumalatha herself will be contesting the polls. Reason cited is that her husband Ambareesh is not keeping well. Hence Karnataka Pradesh Congress has requested Sumalatha to contest elections.
It is yet to be announced about from where she will contest. She might contest from Mandya where she is popular.
Sumalatha was seen in 'Kaidi (1983)' opposite Chiranjeevi. She has acted in many Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films.
