Filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s creation Baahubali series made India proud. Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion - both the films raked massive collections and shattered att the box office records. Now, according to the latest reports, a prequel for the franchise is on cards. Online streaming service Netflix announced that they would be bankrolling this project.
Director Deva Katta of Prasthanam fame, will be teaming up with SS Rajamouli to direct the prequel. It is learnt that Deva Katta will also be co-producing the series. However, the official announcement regarding the prequel is yet to be made and it’s likely to come out soon.
Presently, pre-production works are underway and the makers are now looking to finalize cast and crew. It has been reported that the story of Rajamatha Sivagami will be narrated in the prequel. It will be released as a three-season web-series and the first season is titled ‘The Rise of Sivagami’.
The Baahubali series which was a two part film featured Rana Daggubati, Prabhas, Satyaraj, Ramya Krishnan, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia amongst others.
