‘Mahanati’ directed by Nag Ashwin has hit the screens on May 9 in a grand level. Keerthy Suresh played the titular role. We accept that ‘Mahanati’ is a phenomenal film and it is receiving extraordinary reviews from critics. However, when you are making such a huge film, it’s impossible to make it flawless. ‘Mahanati - The biopic of late legendary actress Savitri too has a mistake. In the film, after Savitri faces bad days in her personal life, she is shown to have started her second innings as an actress with ‘Gorintaku’ to overcome her financial crisis. SV Rangarao, played by Mohan Babu, invites her to eat lunch with him as unit members ill-treat her.
This was a mistake as Gorintaku was made in 1979 but SVR had passed away by that time. The scene got good response with Mohan Babu delivering a powerful dialogue ‘Annam Pette Vadi Vungaralanu Kuda Kotteyalani Chuse Samajam Idi’. In reality, the person in SV Rangarao’s place was Gummadi. Regarding the same Nag Ashwin confessed that it was indeed done consciously. As the director had no time to rope in another character for the film, he decided to do the scene with the existing character.
