The makers of ‘Yatra’ - A film based on the life of legendary politician former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy, have finally revealed the release date of the film. Good news for all YSR fans and normal movie buffs is that Yatra will be releasing on a very special day. Yatra, which highlights momentous episodes in YSR’s life is one of the most awaited films.
After releasing the film’s teaser on the occasion of YSR’s 69th birthday, the makers have now announced to release the movie on December 21st which happens to be YSR’s son and his political heir YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s birthday. So, YS Jagan’s coming birthday is going to be a very special one for YSR and Jagan’s fans who have been waiting eagerly to watch Yatra on big screen.
Malayalam superstar Mammootty has enacted YSR. Also starring Rao Ramesh, Posani Krishna Murali and Anasuya among others, Yatra is directed by Mahi V Raghav of Anando Brahma fame. Composer K has provided the score of the film. Shiva Meka is presenting the film, while Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy are producing it on 70mm Entertainments.
Yatra posters and teaser got immense response and the promotional content has indeed raised the expectations. Mammootty's mannerisms appeared very similar to YSR's in the teaser. Yatra story is all about the historic Padayatra of YSR that changed the course of Andhra Pradesh's politics. People across the state thronged to join the Padayatra to lend their support to YSR. In 2003, YSR took a long walk across the state and covered about 1475 km on foot. This assured the victory of his party in the 2004 election.
