The shooting of the biopic on former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister late YS Rajasekhar Reddy titled ‘Yatra’ is scheduled to begin on April 9. Malayalam Superstar Mammootty will play the titular role in this exciting project to be directed by Mahi Raghav. After delivering super hit films like ‘Bhale Manchi Roju’ and ‘Anando Brahma’, producers Vijay Chilla and Shashidevi Reddy are producing this film as their third project under 70 MM Entertainments banner.
The film will portray the political journey of YS Rajasekhar Reddy. The focus will be on the marathon padayatra which eventually led to YSR’s victory in the Assembly elections. YSR has started his 60-day padayatra to highlight drought related problems on April 9 in 2003 with the slogan ‘Kadapa daati vasthunnaanu…meetho kalisi nadavalanundi…Mee gundechappudu vinaalanundi…”. Therefore marking the occasion, the shooting of the film will start from April 9.
