On Monday, several unverified media reports claimed that Bollywood director Nishikant Kamat is no more. The news is that Hyderabad's AIG Hospital has put the record straight by issuing an official statement.
In a short, one-line clarification, the Hospital said that the director of Ajay Devgn's 'Drishyam' continues to be on ventilator support. He is in critical condition, the statement added.
Earlier in the day, actor Riteish Deshmukh urged the media to take back the fake news that Kamat had passed away. "Nishikant Kamat is on ventilator support. He is still alive and fighting. Let’s pray for him. Requesting all the respected Media Houses who reported on Kamat to put out a clarification please," he tweeted.
Kamat was hospitalized earlier in August after he developed complications related to liver cirrhosis.
