Days after Amrutha Varshini moved a local court in Nalgonda against Ram Gopal Varma's 'Murder', alleging that it tells her story without her consent, the makers of the film moved the Telangana High Court appealing against the court's stay order against 'Murder'. The HC has since struck off the lower court's order, saying that RGV's 'Murder' can be released. It said that the names Amrutha, Pranay and Maruthi Rao shouldn't be used in the film.
Speaking about the film, RGV has said that he hasn't made Amrutha-Pranay's story as a film. "The film is only inspired by some incidents. The incident of Pranay's murder in broad daylight in Telangana and the subsequent developments in the lives of Amrutha and Maruthi Rao are in the public domain. The media repeatedly reported on them. If I do a film based on the developments, how will it change what has already happened? My film doesn't intend to cause hurt to anyone. The film doesn't judge anybody," RGV said.
He said that he was not obliged to take the consent of Amrutha and her family to make 'Murder'. "My film is not about what their conversations in the kitchen and bedroom are," RGV said, suggesting that everything that is there in the film is based on incidents in the public domain.
