TV personality and artist Vishnu Priya is going to be seen as a lead actress in 'Checkmate', directed and produced by Prasad Velampalli. Produced by Chinni Krishna Productions, this one also features Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Deeksha Panth, Brahmanandam, Raghu Babu, Shakalaka Shankar and others.
Having completed its production and post-production activities, it's now gearing up for a theatrical release. Director-producer Prasad Velampalli said that the film has got a U/A certificate.
"Now that theatres are going to be reopened from December 4, we are bracing for a release. VV Vinayak garu recently released the trailer of our film. The response to it has been great. 'Checkmate' is up-to-date in terms of content," the makers said.
The film is about four characters who face hardship and how they overcome them. "We shot the film in beautiful locations across Singapore with a huge star cast," the makers added.
Vishnu Priya said that she got the offer on Shiva Ratri. "I believe the offer came to me because of Shiva. I couldn't believe that I would be playing the female lead. We started shooting the movie within a week at Ramoji Film City," she said. "Since Prasad garu is a family friend of my mother, I didn't even care to know the story. I was nervous initially on set because I am an acting novice. Thanks to the director, I got into the skin of the character. Amma Rajasekhar garu has choreographed two songs," Vishnu Priya revealed.
Sampoornesh Babu, Raghu Babu, Poornima, Krishna Bhagawan, RK Mallidi, Sudigali Sudheer, Adhurs Raghu, Tagubothu Ramesh, Sathya Krishna and others are part of the cast. Cinematography is by Garuda Vega Anji. Music is by Mahati. Editing is by Kranthi.
