The Movie Artistes Association and the Active Telugu Film Producers’ Guild have come together to impose pay cuts on all artists and technicians (who charge above a certain figure) in the industry. Here are the details of the salary cuts.
A 20% reduction of remunerations shall be applicable to artists who charge more than Rs 20,000 per day. Technicians and other individuals drawing over Rs. 5 lakh per film are expected to extend the same reduction (of 20%).
"We have taken the decision in view of the uncertainty of theatre occupancy everywhere. Zero foreign theatrical markets is what we are facing," the Guild said on Saturday.
The agreed-upon rates will be reviewed as the situation normalizes. "This understanding is applicable to all producers, artists and technicians regardless of their affiliations. All are expected to cooperate and comply so that the Telugu Film Industry may flourish again soon," the Guild added.
